Why I Like Pattaya

By Joe McKinel

I have been living in Thailand for roughly two years and now wanted to do an article on Pattaya. I have spent a good period in the city and surrounding area.Pattaya has gotten a name for a city of fun and well let us say adult entertainment. Yes, this is very true and it can be especially wild, there is another side of Pattaya.

Some of the most fun that I have had in Thailand has been at some of Pattaya's family attractions. There is no shortage of fun things to do in Pattaya that is for sure. When I first came to Thailand and begin to see all the families and young couples walking the street. I asked the question why are they in Pattaya?

A walk on Beach Street will start to respond to that question . As you walk down the road you look out and see many boats, parasailing, swimming, nice dinners, folks are taking cruises. So I took a ship tour and it included ; fishing, eating, parasailing, Island jumps, snorkeling and much much more. I was actually impressed and met plenty of extremely nice folks.

One of the most fascinating places I have found in Pattaya is called: Million Year Stone Park and Crocodile Farm. It is a mix of a large variety of animals and some of the most spectacular rocks I have ever seen. You can get your photograph taken with a baby tiger, bear, crocodile and much more. There are is a crocodile show that is very good. You can feed the elephants and huge catfishes.

There is a place to bungee cord jump which is something I always wanted to do. So, I paid my fee and took my first jump. Needless to say it was a rush like no other I have experienced. They were very professional the jump went well until the cord snapped, only joking. Everything was fine and I really had a good time.

I am a golfer. There are many nice place to play golf in the general area and they fairly priced. One thing about golf is you meet folk if you show up alone. They supply the caddy, which is generally a really pleasant young woman. You can take a cart or walk. I'd suggest taking the golf buggy, because some of the courses are spread over a huge area. Hey, if you like exercise, have at it.

This essentially is just the short list to do in Pattaya. Like I claimed the night life is like nowhere else in the world. Just use some common sense and respect the King, as he has earned it.
